Little Mary Sunshine

Little Mary Sunshine is a play based on a young woman who is constantly smiling and nothing can get her down. When I was asked to do this poster, the director showed me a logo that many people use to advertise their rendition of "Little Mary Sunshine," but after talking with a few different people, that logo was deemed "creepy" and I was asked to come up with something different. I found this picture of a woman seemingly walking on air and by putting her in a yellow gown, she emulated Little Mary perfectly.
